For centuries to the present day, music has been at the heart of the Temple, an oasis lying between the City of Westminster and the City of London. The historic buildings in Inner and Middle Temple and the ancient Temple Church continue to be the setting for outstanding choral music with other diverse and varying art-forms.
The twelfth century church with its famous organ and choir has been associated with numbers of distinguished musicians and composers; the premiere of Sir John Tavener´s all-night epic piece, The Veil of the Temple took place here in 2003 to great acclaim.
