John Ashton Thomas is one of this country’s most versatile composers. His choral repertoire includes a number of commissions for the Temple Church Choir, whilst his most prolific work has been for the big screen; the long list of films on which he has worked ranges from King Lear to The Bourne Trilogy. It is jazz however that has always been his passion, as a performer, teacher and composer. This concert showcases his music from this genre, including a piece written especially for the performance.
