Temple Church Choir’s end of summer term concert features an array of Marian music, including Gerald Finzi’s glorious Magnificat. The Temple Church was consecrated in 1185 by Patriarch Heraclius of Jerusalem and dedicated to the Virgin Mary, in the presence of King Henry II. The concert celebrates the church’s dedication in exquisite choral settings from the Middle Ages to the present day, including the world premiere of a new work by Richard Allain. The sumptuous programme from the world famous choir is woven together by Gregorian chant and by improvisations on the church's fine organ.
