A sumptuous programme of English choral music from one of London's foremost chamber choirs. This beautifully-crafted concert encompasses rich unaccompanied anthems for double-choir by Rutter and Harvey, great paeans to the patron saint of music by Howells and Britten, and uplifting gems of the repertoire by Walton and Hadley. Temple Church's magnificent organ will be on full display in Stanford's powerful Fantasia and Toccata in D Minor and in Finzi's ever-popular Lo, the full, final sacrifice.
"The choir is not large, but the sound they make is immense, with each chord given a resonant afterglow by the soaring spaces of the Temple Church. The immensity isn't just a matter of power, it's to do with total focus and precision."
