Beethoven Allegretto in B flat major for piano trio
Schubert Quintet in A major ‘The Trout’ for piano and strings
For the first of our two ‘as live’ streamed concerts, we welcome these five leading chamber musicians to the matchless acoustic and surrounding of an otherwise empty Temple Church. Beethoven’s lyrical Allegretto acts as the prelude to the concert’s main event, Schubert’s much-loved ‘Trout’ Quintet. This light but upbeat work, written by a carefree Schubert on a summer holiday in the stunning Austrian countryside, radiates sunshine, brightness and the great outdoors, perfect as we start to break free of the confines of Lockdown.
This concert will remain available to view on our website after the premiere. You will be able to start viewing the performance at anytime from 7pm on Tuesday 28 July.
This recording is made possible by the very generous support of the Trustees of the Temple Music Foundation. In what continues to be a highly challenging period for performers and audiences alike, the Trustees have unanimously supported this first venture into streaming, with the hope that there will be many more streamed TMF concerts in the future.
