Tenor Nicky Spence steps in for Eva-Maria Westbroek at Temple Song on 16th June

We regret that Eva-Maria Westbroek has had to withdraw from the Temple Song recital on Thursday 16th June 2022 at 7pm.  But we are thrilled that acclaimed tenor Nicky Spence is stepping in.  He joins Julius Drake, to present Into Summer.

Leaving winter behind us we travel in the company of Britten, Hardy, Haydn, Housman, Moore, Quilter, Schubert, Schumann and above all Shakespeare in search of summer:

Benjamin Britten Winter Words op 52 (Hardy)
Roger Quilter Three Shakespeare Songs op 6
Franz Schubert An Silvia (Shakespeare)
Joseph Haydn She never told her love (Shakespeare)
Robert Schumann Zwei Venetianische Lieder op 25 (Thomas Moore)
Henri Duparc Sérénade Florentine (Lahor)
Ralph Vaughan Williams Bredon Hill (Housman)
Michael Tippett Three Songs for Ariel (Shakespeare)
Hugo Wolf Lied des transferierten Zettel (Shakespeare)
Mervyn Horder Under the greenwood tree (Shakespeare)
John Dankworth Shall I compare thee to a summers day (Shakespeare)
John Dankworth Dunsinane Blues
Franz Schubert/Peter Dickinson Hark, hark the lark

We are hugely grateful to Nicky for stepping in with the perfect programme for a beautiful summer's evening.  Join us in the Elizabethan splendour of Middle Temple Hall, with its stunning acoustic, for an unmissable evening of song.  Students and Under-35s can come for £5!
