A new recording which celebrates 100 years of the organ at Temple Church has been released today on the Idiom label. The much-anticipated debut solo album from the church's organist Charles Andrews takes inspiration from the rich musical heritage of the church, in particular its links with the Royal College of Music - where Charles is head of organ studies.

The programme centres on the greatest organist-composer in Temple Church’s history, Sir George Thalben-Ball, and features works from composers in his circle including Henry Walford Davies and Harold Darke. It also includes music in the English virtuoso tradition of which Thalben-Ball sparked.
