Experience an unforgettable evening of Mozart at his most transcendent, as The Temple Singers join forces with the UK's leading period instrument ensemble, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, under the direction of Thomas Allery. Featuring an exceptional cast of soloists led by internationally celebrated soprano Lucy Crowe, this promises to be a concert of rare emotional power and musical brilliance.

At the heart of the programme lies Mozart's Requiem - one of the most profound and haunting masterpieces ever written. Surrounded by mystery and unfinished at the composer’s death, the Requiem confronts mortality with extraordinary intensity, from the terrifying force of the Dies Irae to the heartbreaking beauty of the Lacrimosa. Few works in classical music speak so directly to the soul.

Earlier in the evening, Lucy Crowe brings dazzling virtuosity and radiant lyricism to Exsultate, Jubilate, Mozart’s exuberant motet of soaring joy and sparkling coloratura.

Passionate, dramatic, and deeply moving, this promises to be a musical journey through fear, hope, and transcendence. An evening that will stay with you long after the final note has faded.

This concert is generously sponsored by Bruce Harris and Guy Fetherstonhaugh.

"At the centre is Lucy Crowe’s Fiordiligi. She not only produces the finest Mozart singing heard at the Coliseum for years — a masterclass in agility, lightness and grace — but also gives a convincing portrayal of a woman torn between the turmoil of guilt and the ecstasy of liberation."

The Times

"The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment combine virtuosity with a practised nonchalance to soothe our age’s anxieties."

The Guardian

"It was remarkable to hear the choir’s musicality and command over their overall sound."
