A rush-hour concert profiling four students from the Royal College of Music, one of the world’s top performing arts institutions. These talented young musicians reveal the many characteristics of Temple Church’s fine organ (which once adorned the ballroom of Glen Tanar House); from the most tender of sounds in George Thalben-Ball’s heartrending Elegy to the grandeur of Widor’s 6th Symphony. The programme also includes folk-inspired music from Master of the King’s Music, Judith Weir, and ends with Elgar’s magnificent Organ Sonata, one of the greatest English works of the twentieth century for organ.
