Trio Bohémo (piano trio)
Experience an electrifying evening of chamber music as the internationally acclaimed Trio Bohémo makes its highly anticipated Temple Music debut. Renowned for their passionate playing, fiery intensity, and captivating stage presence, the trio has rapidly become one of the most exciting young ensembles on the international music scene.
Since forming in 2019, Trio Bohémo has enjoyed a meteoric rise, winning the prestigious Parkhouse Award and taking First Prize at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition. Their 2024 debut album earned glowing five-star reviews from BBC Music and Classica magazines and was named the Guardian’s Classical Album of the Week.
This thrilling programme celebrates the rich musical heritage of the trio’s homeland alongside one of Beethoven’s most revolutionary works. At its heart is Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 1 No. 3 - a bold, dramatic masterpiece that stunned audiences at its 1793 premiere and revealed the young Ludwig van Beethoven at his most daring and visionary. Overflowing with tension, power, and innovation, it foreshadows the emotional force of the “Pathétique” Sonata and Fifth Symphony.
The programme also features the beloved Dumky Trio by Antonín Dvořák, bursting with folk-inspired colour and emotional depth, alongside the poignant lyricism of Josef Suk and the radiant energy of Bohuslav Martinů’s Second Piano Trio.
From soaring lyricism to explosive virtuosity, this promises to be an unforgettable night of passion, drama, and dazzling musicianship.
