Doric String Quartet

Pieter Wispelwey cello

We celebrate our return to Inner Temple's splendid Treasury Building following its recent refurbishment, by bringing together one of the world's finest cellists and one of the leading quartets of its generation, for a performance of Schubert's sublime String Quintet. Alongside this monumental work, the Doric String Quartet play Beethoven's remarkably concentrated Opus 95 'Quartetto serioso' - his shortest quartet, yet bursting with an astonishing variety of material and character.  Completing the line-up is Haydn's serene and sophisticated 'Dream' quartet.  The Parliament Chamber of Inner Temple with its wood paneling and beautiful carvings by Grinling Gibbons is the perfect setting for an evening of chamber music.
