The highly-popular Temple Winter Festival returns this December, with 8 exceptional events to kick-start the festive season.
Running 1-5 December, the festival features exquisite choral music in the historic surroundings of Temple Church, world-class chamber music and song, our first-ever performance in the elegant Parliament Chamber of Middle Temple, and the Bar Choral Society in Bach's Christmas Oratorio.
The festival opens with a lunchtime duet recital by acclaimed pianists Charles Owen & Katya Apekisheva in Inner Temple's Parliament Chamber. Their programme includes Schubert's great F Minor Fantasie. That evening, Outcry Ensemble perform sumptuous music for string orchestra.
Soprano Katharina Ruckgaber (pictured) & pianist Sholto Kynoch offer a wonderful selection of songs for the season. And star trumpeter Matilda Lloyd joins organist Richard Gowers in a recital showcasing works from their new album 'Fantasia'. The recital includes not one, not two, but three premieres!
Choral music during the week includes the Temple Church Choir in an atmospheric 'Darkness to Light' procession and the Temple Singers in a rush-hour performance of Advent carols.
